In the making

Just thought I would share some pictures of my latest doll and the steps I take to make them.
I start with several sketches of the design I have in mind. For this one I want a sweet face and angel wings. I sketched out 3 ideas, then make a paper pattern from a sketch. Next I plan the fabrics...I just love this chalkboard design I bought a while ago. That will be a part of her dress!
Then I cut the fabrics and sew and bead as I go. Look for the finished results at my shop soon!

If you would like to reserve one, please let me know soon. I will only be making a few! I have to make one for my daughters 2ND grade teacher...shhhhh!!!

Mothers Day Pin

It is time to think about mom and all she has done for us. She is there when we are sick, when we are excited, and when we are sad. I created this little mother and child pin just for your mom! You can find her at www.mommylion.etsy.com

There's no place like home!

I can't tell you the last time I stayed at home. I took my little one to grandma's today and came back home. I did 2 loads of wash. Organized materials, worked on orders and finished this little chick pin. ( At my shops)

As a teacher it just makes me wish for summer!
Hope you all had a productive day.

Now it's time to pick up my 7 year old, make lunches for the week, make dinner... it does not end, does it?
Happy Sunday!

Easter Plush

I have been working to get ready for Easter! I have several new designs that are just listed at my shops. www.mommylion.etsy.com
The little Egg Ornament picture does not do it justice. It is adorable. The little bunny comes out. It can be used as a frame if you want!
The chick is cute too. Check them out!

Saint Patrick's Day Doll

Here is a little Leprechaun just ready to celebrate Spring. She is 11" tall and made from a variety of fabrics. I am trying some new fibers for my dolls hair. I have been buying batting from some wonderful Etsy shops. Most of the batts are wool, silk and Angelina...I love the sparkle.
Let me know what you think!

Mermaids at the Beach

Living in Virginia beach is exciting. It is so different from where I lived in New York. After years of shoveling snow and freezing in Amherst New york I wanted a change. Virginia Beach was that change. It is a clean and beautiful area. And the beach is like magic. The sunsets are so powerful with their rich pinks and purples. A day at the beach is a day full of fun for our family!
I love the summers here, but there is something so peaceful about visiting the beach in the winter when only the locals are making footprints in the cold sand. I like to go there to think and get ideas.
So as a tribute to this beautiful area...here is my latest creation. Made from silk, felt, vintage and new materials. Enjoy!
